What is SunShift?

SunShift is an automated tool that optimises your solar system’s performance. It tracks energy production, battery levels, and usage, adjusting settings every 5 minutes to maximise savings.


SunShift also ensures your system follows warranty guidelines, protecting your investment and extending battery life. With real-time alerts and detailed reports, it gives you control over your system while keeping it efficient and reliable.

How does SunShift work?

SunShift continuously monitors your solar system’s performance by checking data like energy production, battery levels, weather conditions, and load usage every 5 minutes. Based on this real-time data, SunShift automatically adjusts your inverter’s settings to optimise energy efficiency and ensure you’re saving the most on electricity.


SunShift also ensures your system follows warranty guidelines, protecting your investment and batteries. If any issues like reduced solar production or inverter faults are detected, you’ll get real-time alerts. 


Additionally, you receive daily, weekly, and monthly reports on performance and savings, helping you further optimise your setup. It’s a hands-off, automatic solution.

Can I still change settings if I need to?

Yes, you can change settings as needed. SunShift allows customisation through the Xemote app, letting you adjust settings like system mode timers, battery charge/discharge levels, and energy usage priorities to fit your needs. Leaving the system to continue its automatic optimisations is the best for performance.


While SunShift automatically optimises your system for efficiency, you have full control to make changes when necessary. SunShift will then continue to work around your preferences, ensuring your system runs effectively.

    Yes, SunShift sends real-time alerts for system issues like reduced PV production, battery problems, and grid outages. You’ll also be notified when your system is connected or disconnected from the grid and if you have less than one hour of power left with no way to charge the batteries.


    Additionally, SunShift provides daily, weekly, and monthly reports on savings and performance, including personalised insights.

    How much can I save with SunShift?

    Savings depend on the size and setup of your solar system, but SunShift maximises energy use to reduce grid reliance and lower electricity costs.


    You can use our savings calculator to estimate the additional savings SunShift can provide. It takes into account your current battery settings to give you a clearer picture of potential savings.

    Will SunShift help during load shedding?

    Yes, SunShift optimises battery usage before load shedding to ensure power is available during outages. 


    If your batteries don't have enough charge, SunShift will charge them using the least grid power possible. It calculates how much to charge based on your load predictions, ensuring it only charges the minimum needed, so your savings are protected even when using grid power.

    Installation

    How do I install SunShift?

    The SunShift dongle is plug-and-play. Simply connect it to your inverter, then use the Xemote app to connect it to Wi-Fi.

    Do I need technical expertise or an installer to install SunShift?

    No, SunShift is designed for easy, do-it-yourself installation without needing technical expertise. 


    There's no risk of shock or damage. Installing it is as simple as plugging a USB into a computer.

    Compatibility

    Does SunShift work with my inverter?

    SunShift is compatible with both Sunsynk and Deye inverters, supporting single-phase and three-phase systems.

    Does SunShift work for parallel systems?

    Yes, SunShift optimises parallel systems. However, you will need to purchase a dongle and subscription for each inverter, as we cannot access slave energy data from the master inverter.

    Does SunShift work for fully off grid systems?

    Yes, SunShift can monitor and provide insights for off-grid systems. However, since the primary benefit of SunShift is optimising grid-related savings, off-grid systems will not see the same level of savings benefit.

    Pricing and Payments

    What subscription plans are available?

    SunShift offers monthly, bi-annual, and yearly subscription plans.

    • Monthly: R99 billed monthly
    • Bi-Annually: R85 per month billed bi-annually (R510 every 6 months)
    • Annually: R55 per month billed annually (R660 per year)

    How does payment work?

    SunShift Dongles can be purchased directly from this website.


    Subscriptions, however, are managed through the Xemote Mobile app. Once you’ve received and installed your SunShift dongle, you can activate your subscription from within the app.

    Can I cancel my subscription?

    Yes, you can cancel your SunShift subscription at any time. 


    After cancellation, you will no longer be billed for future periods but will continue to have access to SunShift features until the end of your current billing cycle. If you need help with the cancellation process or have questions, feel free to contact our support team.

    What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?

    If you cancel your SunShift subscription, your historical data will be stored for a limited time and can be accessed if you reactivate your subscription. 


    However, once cancelled, you will lose access to real-time monitoring, optimisation, and reports. If you want to permanently delete your data, you can request this by contacting our support team.

    Can I return my SunShift for a refund?

    Yes, we offer a 14-day return period for the SunShift dongle. For more detailed information on refunds and returns, please refer to our Returns Policy.

    Is there a warranty for the SunShift system?
